I moved away from Rovaniemi about nine years ago and I’ve always had very mixed feelings when I come here for a longer time. Now I’ve been here for one week and Rovaniemi has really surprised me. The town has changed a lot and mostly for the good, I have to admit! The city centre seems a lot bigger, there’s a few very nice new cafes (like the one in the picture) and the pedestrian area is about as big as in the bigger cities in Finland with 10 times the population! I really like what’s happening here.
