Sunset

We stayed in Nakhon Ratchasima only for one night and continued to the near by Khao Yai national park early in the morning. We did a guided half-day tour near the national park and that’s where this picture was taken.

Reading in the Train

From Ubon we took a train to Nakhon Ratchasima. The train took about 6h for a distance of 300km, but it was a nice experience anyway!

Decorations

I can’t quite remeber where this picture was taken, but I think it was one the temples we visited in Ubon Ratchathani.

Eating Fruit

From Laos we started our journey towards Bangkok. We stayed a couple of nights in eastern Thailand in a city called Ubon Ratchathani. It was very nice! No tourists or other western people (with a few exceptions), nice atmosphere and nice people.

Waiting for the Rain to Stop

From the islands in southern Laos we continued north to a city called Savannakhet. We got some heavy rain in the evening.

Sunrise by the Mekong River

Sunrise as seen from our bungalow.

Sunset by the Mekong River

Sunset byt the mighty Mekong river in Don Det island, southern Laos.

Waterfall

Waterfall on the next island called Don Khon. We rented bicycles for a day and cycled around the islands.

Swinging in the Hammock

Most of the time in the Don Det island we stayed in our hammocks and read books. I read almost two books in four days! A perfect holiday!

Morning Mist

We stayed in Southern Laos in an area called Four thousand islands. Our bungalow was right next to the Mekong river and we ended up staying here a couple of days longer than we intended.
