ID; in the first 3 characters of a file is the signature for a SYLK file. The fourth character can be a P, N or an E which flags certain information about how the rest of the file should be processed.

Remember not to use ID as the first column name of a CSV file when using semicolons as field delimiters.

I guess that's good proof of the power (and the hype) of Twitter. But I was wondering are politicians really able to say something in only 140 characters? And think about it, what else could social media do to democracy and politics? Shouldn't politics be as open and social as possible?

Before getting to the developments for this week, I want to communicate some things that have been said on the mailing lists and community site but not announced to the general public. Elgg 1.7 replaces 1.6.2 as the next released version of Elgg. This decision was made because the changes required to fix some of the bugs are inappropriate for a bugfix release. The tentative date for 1.7 is the end of November.

I was really waiting for the bug fixes promised in 1.6.2 but I guess this is understandable. What I don't like is the fact that 1.6.2 was supposed to be released already at the end of September.
